In our Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) certificate program, you’ll work to complete academic and clinical practice opportunities to build the knowledge and skills essential for the demands of today’s healthcare environment. The LPN program offers a challenging curriculum that cultivates your ability to apply knowledge, think critically, and communicate effectively.

In our courses, you’ll focus on proper procedures to collect and organize healthcare data, coordinate with other nurses and healthcare providers to provide patient care, contribute to the care plan, and identify and understand common health problems in patients. Courses cover medical surgical, mental health, pediatric, geriatric, and maternal infant nursing, including hands-on practice in nursing simulation labs and clinical sites. As a graduate, you’ll be eligible to take the LPN licensure examination (NCLEX-PN).

Pursue your future goals in nursing with our Associate of Science in Health Science (Pre-Nursing) program. This program is designed to provide opportunity to establish the foundation needed to apply for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. All of the required prerequisite courses to pursue admission to the South College BSN are included in this program.

To get you ready to pursue your interest in nursing, you’ll study anatomy, physiology, biology, chemistry, nutrition, and more. You’ll also take courses that provide you with an overview of the nurse’s role in healthcare in order to prepare you for success in the nursing program. Upon completing this program, you’ll be prepared to apply for admission to the BSN program or to pursue a variety of entry-level health profession positions.

In our Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program, you’ll work to develop a strong academic and clinical foundation. With classroom, laboratory, and hands-on clinical training from our experienced instructors, you’ll work to learn how to function as part of a healthcare team to provide collaborative, interdisciplinary care that improves patient outcomes.

In your major nursing courses, you’ll undertake a rigorous schedule with approximately 20 hours of in-class time per week, along with work outside of the classroom, including reading and analysis. Courses explore mental health, pediatric, adult health, and maternal infant nursing care. By the time you earn your ASN, you’ll have worked to gain the fundamental skills and technical competence needed and will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam.

Our Associate of Science in Nursing (LPN/ASN option) program is designed to provide Licensed Practical Nurses with a strong academic and clinical foundation for becoming a nurse generalist. With classroom, lab, and hands-on clinical training from our experienced instructors, you’ll focus on how to serve as part of a healthcare team to provide collaborative, interdisciplinary care that improves patient outcomes.

The program pathway for the LPN/ASN option may be completed in 7 quarters (21 months). These courses require approximately 20 hours of in-class time per week, along with work outside the classroom, including reading and analysis. Nursing courses explore mental health, pediatric, adult health, maternal infant nursing care, and more. Prerequisite core courses include medical terminology, anatomy, and more.. By the time you earn your ASN, you’ll have worked to gain the fundamental skills and competence needed for effective patient care and will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam.

If you already have a non-nursing bachelor’s degree, our accelerated BSN program option is designed to develop a strong academic and clinical foundation for becoming a nurse generalist. With classroom, laboratory, and hands-on clinical training from our experienced instructors, you’ll work to prepare to function as part of a healthcare team to provide collaborative, interdisciplinary care that improves patient outcomes.

You’ll also focus on how to delegate tasks, supervise patient care, and evaluate personnel within a team setting. In your upper division nursing courses, you’ll undertake a rigorous schedule with approximately 20 hours of in-class time per week, along with reading, analysis, and other work outside of the classroom. Courses explore mental health, pediatric, adult health, maternal infant, and community health nursing, as well as topics like nursing management and nursing research. By the time you earn your BSN, you’ll have worked to develop the skills and technical competence needed and be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam.

In our BSN program, you’ll work to build a strong academic and clinical foundation for future nursing opportunities. With classroom and laboratory instruction from our experienced instructors and hands-on clinical training in a medical facility, you’ll prepare to function as part of a healthcare team to provide collaborative, interdisciplinary care that improves patient outcomes. You’ll also focus on how to delegate tasks, supervise patient care, and evaluate personnel within a team setting.

In your upper division nursing courses, you’ll undertake a rigorous schedule with approximately 20 hours of in-class time per week, along with reading, analysis, and other work outside of the classroom. Courses explore mental health, pediatric, adult health, maternal infant, and community health nursing, as well as topics like nursing management and nursing research. By the time you earn your BSN, you’ll have worked to develop a strong academic and clinical foundation, as well as the skills and technical competence needed. You will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN licensure exam.

In our BSN program offered via a hybrid/online format through our Nashville, Knoxville, Atlanta and Orlando campuses, you can complete select courses online, with required lab hours and course testing held on campus during the week or on weekends. With online classes, in-person labs, and hands-on clinical training in a medical facility, you’ll work to prepare to function as part of a healthcare team to provide collaborative, interdisciplinary care that improves patient outcomes.

You’ll also focus on how to delegate tasks, supervise patient care, and evaluate personnel within a team setting. In your upper division nursing courses, you’ll undertake a rigorous schedule with approximately 20 hours of focused class time per week, along with reading, analysis, and other work outside of the classroom. Labs and testing will be scheduled on campus depending on clinical schedules. Courses explore mental health, pediatric, adult health, maternal infant, and community health nursing, as well as topics like nursing management and nursing research. By the time you earn your BSN, you’ll have worked to develop a strong academic and clinical foundation, as well as the skills and technical competence needed. You will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN licensure exam.

In our LPN-BSN program, you’ll build on your knowledge and skills as an LPN to further develop a strong academic and clinical foundation for becoming a nurse generalist. With classroom, laboratory, and hands-on clinical training from our experienced instructors, you’ll work to prepare for an expanded role in a healthcare team to provide collaborative, interdisciplinary care that improves patient outcomes.

You’ll also learn best practices for delegating tasks, supervising patient care, and evaluating personnel within a team setting. In your upper division nursing courses, you’ll undertake a rigorous schedule with approximately 20 hours of in-class time per week, along with reading, analysis, and other work outside of the classroom. Courses explore mental health, pediatric, adult health, maternal infant, and community health nursing, as well as topics like nursing management and nursing research. By the time you earn your BSN, you’ll have worked to develop the skills and technical competence needed and be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam.
