Admission requirements at South College in Nashville can vary by program.

However, applicants applying to undergraduate programs must meet some common requirements.

Applicants applying to a certificate program must meet the following:

• Proof of high school graduation from an acceptable high school or the equivalent (GED/HiSET).

Applicants applying to our associate or bachelor’s programs must meet the following:

• Proof of high school graduation from an acceptable high school or the equivalent (GED/HiSET).
• One of the following additional pieces of evidence:
  • Transcripts showing a 2.5 cumulative high school GPA.
  • Obtaining a specified score on the college-administered entrance exam.
  • Official SAT scores showing a minimum combined score of 830. The essay section is not required.
  • Official ACT assessment scores showing a minimum composite score of 17.
  • Transcripts showing receipt of an associate degree or above from an accredited institution. The minimum GPA for prior undergraduate programs is 2.0.

South College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award degrees at the doctorate, educational specialist, master’s, baccalaureate, and associate levels. South College also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Through the Tennessee Promise Scholarship program and the South College Opportunity Grant, Tennessee high school seniors and recent graduates under 19 may be eligible to get 2 years of free tuition for approved associate degree and certificate programs at South College.

Hundreds of Tennessee Promise students have graduated from South College in fields with many opportunities such as accounting, business, criminal justice, education, health professions, and legal studies. All of our Tennessee Promise eligible programs are designed to help you become a knowledgeable and marketable professional, with real-world examples and hands-on attention from instructors—even in online programs.
