South College’s Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program with a Concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with Aesthetics is challenging and comprehensive, offering BSN-MSN tracks, designed to further develop the critical thinking and analytical skills needed for today’s competitive and evolving healthcare environments. Designed to accommodate the schedules of working nurses, the program combines online coursework with hands-on clinical practice experiences. In MSN core courses, you’ll explore areas like advanced pathophysiology, healthcare informatics, advanced pharmacology, advanced health assessment, and advanced research methods and evidence-based practice.

The Family Nurse Practitioner (with Aesthetics) concentration adds three specialty courses focused on basic aesthetics, including legal and ethical considerations, advanced principles of aesthetic procedures, and clinical applications with hands-on practicum experience. These courses build on core and Family Nurse Practitioner concentration traditional curricular courses.

Students choosing to pursue the additional aesthetics courses will complete coursework designed to develop evidence-based knowledge and skills in aesthetic practices such as neuromodulator and dermal filler administration, patient consultation, complication management, and adherence to regulatory and ethical standards. Students participate in a supervised practicum experience which includes 60 hours of 1 to 1 practice with an experienced FNP Aesthetics Nurse Practitioner.

Enrollment in this program concentration is limited to students who are located in Tennessee or Pennsylvania.

• Legal, regulatory, and ethical standards in aesthetic practice
• Facial anatomy, danger zones, and treatment planning
• Neuromodulator and dermal filler pharmacology
• Aesthetic facial mapping and patient consultation
• Complication prevention, recognition, and management
• Documentation, informed consent, and post-care protocols
• Family primary care across the lifespan
